Bradley Schmidt - Chief Executive Officer

Brad Schmidt is the CEO of Northern California PET Imaging Center (NCPIC), where he takes a forward-thinking approach to healthcare by focusing on patient experience, provider applications, and insurance modeling to develop innovative, practical solutions. A nationally recognized leader in ambulatory care, including molecular imaging, radiology, and managed care design, Brad has built a reputation for advancing radiology in ways that are precise, economical, and scalable. He is widely regarded as an innovative and strategic leader with a rare ability to forecast future healthcare trends and apply them in meaningful, actionable ways. Recent examples include amyloid PET imaging, healthcare cost transparency, commercial insurance (employer & patient) economics, interoperability, consumer programs (e.g. "bronze plan" access), AI adoption and diagnostic radiology technology modernization. His foresight is rare in healthcare and has earned him recognition as “Medical Group CEO of the Year” by the Los Angeles Business Journal, as well as honors from CBS News, Imaging Economics, Diagnostic Imaging, ABL (Innovator of the Year, 2021), and multiple industry podcasts and features. He is deeply passionate about lowering healthcare costs for employers, patients, and payers, a movement he calls “Economics of Compassion,” which blends managed care goals with quality-of-life years (QALY) thinking. This value-based model is designed to reduce care costs by up to 80% for patients, real billing savings for example up to $30,000/exam, while supporting payers and care teams with improvements in access, quality, and network alignment. He speaks regularly on these topics, with recent engagements including “The Economics of Compassion” at the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) and “Diagnostic AI in Healthcare” at California Northstate University. He is proud to lead Northern California PET Imaging Center (NCPIC), a nationally recognized nonprofit that has performed over 75,000 PET/CT scans across oncology, neurology, and research. NCPIC is the top-performing amyloid imaging center in California and ranks #2 nationally.
